Do you have an all-state trumpet player and thirty flutes? Or an amazing front ensemble and one person in color guard? Or you want to creatively smoosh a Pirate story with Sasquatch (or something like that?). Having taught for several years, I realize that uneven instrumentation, differing experience levels amongst students, etc., are way more often the rule and not the exception.
Here are five reasons why you should consider working with me:
1. I have experience! I would like to think a lot of what I write is imaginative and cool. I don’t really have a “harmonic language” or style – it just depends on the needs and parameters of the situation. A service honoring Veterans versus an esoteric show choir show versus writing thematically for a traditional spring concert call for drastically different approaches.
2. I am easy to work with and I truly want the best for you and your ensemble. I will do everything I practically can to incorporate your creative vision and to offer you something high quality according to your schedule.
3. I am a good communicator – I will keep you posted on how things are going, and you are welcome to contact me at any time along the way.
4. I am an experienced educator, so I am familiar with student development and with what students are able to achieve given their grade level and experience level.
5. The resulting product will be a high quality work that will fit your program, your students, your performance venue, and anything you’d like.
